The Novus Academy is a school for students in grades K-12 who have learning differences and/or other types of challenging barriers to success. The Novus Academy works with students who are struggling in traditional classrooms because their academic skills, executive functioning skills and social skills may be below their same age peers. Students who are overwhelmed by the demands of a traditional classroom such as class size, peer relationships, and the lack of structure and support will benefit from The Novus Academy

 

Students at The Novus Academy present with the following types of learning differences:

• Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) 

• Dyslexia/Reading Disorder

• Dysgraphia/Disorder of Written Expression

• Dyscalculia/Mathematics Disorder

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)-Level 1 or High Functioning

• Expressive/Receptive/Social Language Disorders

• Executive Function Deficits

• Physical Impairments (ex. impairments due to mild CP)

• Corrected hearing loss (cochlear implants or hearing aids)

• Medical conditions that do not require nursing intervention (ex. Traumatic Brain Injury, Epilepsy, etc.)

• Developmental Delay

• Anxiety or Depression-Mild
