The Lower School Writing Program provides students with the foundational skills necessary to communicate in writing. In addition to learning how to use technology to write, handwriting remains a critical skill to be developed as well. For children to become successful readers, writers, and ultimately, communicators—they need a strong foundation. The Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and additional writing activities provide students with handwriting practice across various genres of writing. Neatness and form are stressed while teaching students strategies to write with speed and ease in all subjects to the best of their ability. We use fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate methods to master handwriting and keyboarding as an automatic and comfortable skill.
