THE NOVUS STORY
The Novus Academy has a creative, supportive, and innovative learning environment where all students have the opportunity to find success. We use a variety of multi-sensory instructional approaches and differentiate our curriculum to meet the needs of each individual learner.
Originally founded as The Hill School of Grapevine, this establishment has been helping students since 2007. Over the course of seven years, additional grade levels and programs were added, partnerships were forged with public and private schools, and summer programs were developed to provide experiential learning opportunities within Texas and Oklahoma. The school developed a much sought- after school environment, culture, and program of instruction. Every school year, approximately 250 to 300 individuals from public and private schools, community organizations, and businesses visited the school to observe and learn how to improve programs for struggling students in the schools they worked in and supported. Edwards’ enduring dream was to create a school unlike any in existence: a world-class learning community that provides innovative, creative, and experiential educational programming, instills confidence, respect, and self-worth, and offers exemplary services and support to students, families, educators, and clinicians.
In 2014, The Hill School of Grapevine was transformed into The Novus Academy, and Edwards’ “dream school” was fully realized. This change brought with it the addition of a high school program, thus increasing educational opportunities for students, families, and the surrounding communities. Novus has built upon the standards of excellence set previously, with a vision to be a world-class learning community that helps every child in our country reach their full potential and leave the world a better place. The Novus Academy aspires to be the model school that sets a new standard for education in our country.
